Continuous Quality Improvement Project
The project is a 12 month project and is funded through the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH). It will form the basis for implementing continuous improvement in SCWHS into the future.
The key aim is it to develop a formalised project management manual to inform the way SCWHS implements the Access to Primary Health Care project and to provide a vehicle for continuous improvement of all our programs and projects.
The project also includes a training component to increase awareness of the importance of continuous improvement and to develop skills and capacity within the organisation to conduct review and improvement cycles in our general working routines.
The manual will include a ‘road map’ for project personnel on the steps and stages of project implementation, processes for identifying and implementing procedures, and will include topic areas such as:
Strategic Processes...
...including sustainability processes, technology, risk management, and review and improvement cycles, stakeholder strategic coordination, and people management (skills, roles and responsibilities etc).
Management Processes...
...including work planning, financial management, quality assurance processes, Health and Safety considerations, information management, reporting, and audit and review.
Work Processes...
...client engagement, antenatal clinic processes, crèche services, health promotion, engaging with men as clients, and consumer and client group feedback and input mechanisms.
The manual will also contain a toolbox to assist with implementing projects. For example data collection tools, standard forms, standard reports, and self assessment questionnaires.
